Five Minute Friday - Wait

Last night I started writing this post and my mind went blank. No inspiration, no thoughts, the fingers on the keyboard stood still.

So instead I decided to wait and watch what thoughts emerged overnight and if in sleep my mind found some inspiration.

Then this morning I woke up with the thoughts of sharing some words that will inspire. Again I sat and pondered over what words I could share.

And then when nothing comes to mind, I turn to Him for my inspiration. And my mind turned towards my Bhagavad Gita deck. Words from above, from the Divine Himself. What could be better. And so I will share the words that He wants us to hear today.

All good things come to those who wait. So often we are impatient and do things rashly. I think if I was determined to write the post last night I might have written one that just didn't feel good for me. In waiting I found, for myself at least, the perfect post.  So well worth the wait.

I hope the words I will share will inspire some of you.

"No effort on the yoga path is ever lost, nor can any obstacle ever hold one back forever. Just a little progress on this path can protect you from the greatest fear".
~ Lord Krishna, Bhagavad Gita

Yoga in this context is spiritual practice

Am I An Artist?

Dear Suzy

At some point in one's life a God given talent (that we all have in our unique and individual way) shines through, the artist's colours paint the landscape.

Sometimes this talent is teased out by teachers or mentors, by parents, siblings or friends and sometimes the Universe opens up the canvas to showcase one's artistry.

Perhaps it was at that moment when the teacher sidelined your attempts that the Universe stepped in and gave seed to the poet within.

But all things happen at the right time, in the right place, in the right way. A moment too soon or a moment later could change the course of destiny.

Believe that the Great Spirit moved within you to rhyme for nothing happens by chance. Your poetry blog  Reflections Of My Soul - My Poems  and being a featured poet at Poet's United are not random isolated incidents but all part of a great plan.

So be the poet that Spirit wants you to be, share the words with the world that He guides you to write, feel that river of joy move within you, romance with Spirit and trust that what is meant to be will be.

Happy rhyming.

What is it that I really want to say?

Mom:   Why are you so anxious? Everything will be okay.
Sonny:  Will you guarantee that?
Mom:    I have faith that God will be with us and all will be okay.
Sonny:  See you couldn't answer my question and things may not be okay,
So that's why I am anxious
Mom:    No use crossing a bridge in advance as it may not appear at all
or if there is one it may be an easy one to cross.
              No point in stressing unnecessarily.

Sonny walks away slightly reassured and Mom looks heavenward and sends a silent prayer to God to please ensure all will be okay, anxious thoughts filling up her head.

What I really wanted to say is that sometimes things are easier said than done.

Wishing you all an anxiety free day.

#MicroblogMonday - Writing Resolutions for 2015

I no longer make any resolutions as the Universe has a mind of its own and invariably overrides my resolutions.

So many times an exasperated Universe has said to me, okay then go pursue your own course but be prepared for the U turn.

So instead I choose a word or a theme for the year and this year it is Serendipity.

Where will that lead me in terms of writing, who knows. But then isn't that half the fun?

The year has started off serendipitously as I am the first featured poet for 2015 at Poet's United. My interview with Sherry Blue Sky is at Poet's United - Life of a Poet Suzy Que.

Happy Writing

The Choices You Make

Carol Graham
I am delighted to guest post for Carol Graham today. Thank you Carol for this opportunity.

I got to know Carol via the Write Tribe Bloggers group some months ago.

Carol is an inspirational writer and blogger. Her life is an example of  never ever giving up hope which incidentally is also the name of her blog Never Ever Give up Hope.

Carol chronicles her life in her book Battered Hope. This book will leave you in awe of Carol who made a conscious choice to rise above her difficulties, never giving up hope that there was something better there for her.  It will provide you with the inspiration and strength to move onto better things.

The inspiration for my post came from my bus journey to work and in observing people and the choices they made.

To read my post, please head over to Carol's post The Choices You Make and share something you observed today that inspired you or a choice you made that sparked a change in you or defined your life in some way.

The choices you make define the path that you take
